29 Mar Sanchez introduced at Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, NC (CBS19 SPORTS) — Ron Sanchez has been by Tony Bennett’s side every year since Bennett has been a head coach. That is going to change next season.
Sanchez was officially introduced as the head coach at Charlotte Tuesday afternoon.
"This is a dream come true for me and I cannot tell you how excited I am," Sanchez said. "This is genuinely just a blessing for me. I believe in the vision that they have and I’m excited to lock arms with them and move forward here as we make this a reality."
The 49ers finished just 6-23 last season. Sanchez is the third coach for the program in the last year after Mark Price was let go in December.
During his introductory press conference, Sanchez thanked Bennett and his father.
I want to thank Tony Bennett and Dick Bennett," he said, "without them, I would not be here."
Sanchez worked with Bennett since 2003, when he was hired by Dick Bennett at Washington State.
